Embarrassing Mr. President?

Before coming to Oslo and receiving the Nobel Peace Prize, President Barak Obama's schedule has been reduced several times. The most striking is the cut of the press conference and an interview with CNN. A standard routine in the protocol for years.

From TV I can see that Americans knows protocol when official American sermonizes are held. So why can't the President of USA stay and follow the protocol when the Nobel Institute in Oslo calls to hand out the Nobel Peace Prize?

Are you embarrassed about the Prize? Are you concerned for spending too much of the national police budget? Are you concerned for all the closed road and fuzz in the city? Maybe you hate to leave your office? Are you short on time? Do you hate Thorbjørn Jagland for giving you the Prize - now? Or are you afraid of all the questions regarding the Prize? Or are you planning to stay for 5 days without telling us?

I hope that Obama doesn't try to "forget" and "hide" his Nobel Peace Prize. That can contribute to destroy the meaning of the Nobel Prize for all those Peace Prize Laureates from the past and in the future - because we still need a Peace Prize!

I think that the U.S. President could use this peace prize to create an even more solid foundation for his concerns about a better world.

And when all this is over we can turn our focus on Thorbjørn Jagland.
